The guide for sustainability journey – a practical toolkit for Hong Kong fashion and textile industry  

We work on a Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund (TSF) project, which is entitled “The guide for sustainability journey – a practical toolkit for Hong Kong fashion and textile industry”. Institute of International Sustainable Development Limited (ISD) is the organiser and Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is the implementation agent. 

The project aims to disseminate latest and useful information in sustainable knowledge and technologies through a series of activities, and develop a practical toolkit to share best practices, innovative technologies, and training and development resources 

Deliverables of this project include: 

  1. Ten case studies on successful green technology/solution provide SMEs with a comprehensive understanding of how to effectively choose and apply the most appropriate technologies and solutions for their needs
  2. Six video clips to highlight the implementation and effectiveness of the solutions in the case studies
  3. Three training seminars to provide information of market available technologies and solutions and upgrade the awareness of the industry for sustainability transition and major trends
  4. A dissemination seminar to share key points of how companies can equip and prepare themselves toward sustainability
  5. Establish a project webpage to disseminate project information

The road to sustainability – a study on sustainable development of Hong Kong fashion and textile industry

We are now working on a Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund (TSF) project, which is entitled “The road to sustainability – a study on sustainable development of Hong Kong fashion and textile industry”. Institute of International Sustainable Development Limited (ISD) is the organiser and Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is the implementation agent. 

The project aims to facilitate Hong Kong fashion and textile enterprises better understand their progress in green manufacturing in comparison with other regions, as well as arouse practitioners of Hong Kong fashion and textile industry’s awareness on the important sustainability and green manufacturing trends and enhance their knowledge on managing green manufacturing.

Deliverables of this project include: 

  1. A research to identify the global sustainability trends and green manufacturing practices for the textile and fashion industry’s reference. The research comprises of a questionnaire survey with 120 respondents and 50 stakeholder interviews to collect their views on sustainability and green manufacturing, particularly the challenges and opportunities facing the industry;
  2. A report summarising the key findings of the research and making recommendations on the way forward for the industry;
  3. A seminar to raise the industry’s awareness of the sustainability trends and knowledge of green manufacturing; and
  4. Project webpages to disseminate information about the project and issues about green manufacturing.
