Dr. Au-Yeung is a multi-disciplinary scholar & consultant in the fields of biotech, life science, engineering design, sustainability, social innovation and business strategies. She is currently the Director of Community Partnership and Executive Assistant to CEO at theDesk, the Hong Kong’s pioneering brand in co-working space management and community building for business. Prior to theDesk, she was the Innovation Director of Vitargent (International) Biotechnology Limited, the stra unicorn of Hong Kong’s biotech scene. Gigi received her B.Eng.(Hon1) from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Product Design-Mechanical Engineering; and obtained her Ph.D. from Singapore Nanyang Technological University in Biomaterial-stem cell science for cardiac regeneration engineering. She worked as a Project Officer for 5 years in Singapore and spent a half-year research attachment at Israel Institute of Technology-Technion. After returning Hong Kong, Gigi has cofounded several tech-startups and social-enterprises, lectured at the Technological and Higher Education Institute and Hong Kong Polytechnic University; as well as provided consultancy for numerous investment, skincare, biotech and technical due diligence projects. Involving also actively in community and youth development services, her social dedication, academic achievement, research excellence and entrepreneurship spirit have been recognized by over 30 prestigious scholarships and awards, allowing her being reported or invited to be speaker at over 100 of media and seminars.
